After winning a Double Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024 last April, our Hors d’Âge Cognac has once again distinguished itself on an international scale by being awarded the titles of Best Extra-Aged/Vintage Cognac and Best Cognac Overall at the Top Shelf 2024 gala dinner, held on October 4th.
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is one of the most respected competitions in the spirits industry. Each year, it brings together experts from all over the world to judge the finest products. In 2024, nearly 5,500 spirits were entered, including 200 in the brandy/cognac category. This title of Best Cognac Overall is a tribute to the quality and passionate work of our house.

Since its founding in 1905 by Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, our family-run house has established itself as one of the world’s leading references in cognac. Driven by expertise passed down through generation, it blends tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation to deliver cognacs of exceptional quality.
The Hors d’Âge cognac, the flagship product of the House, embodies this unparalleled expertise. Jean-Philippe Bergier, cellar master for over 35 years, meticulously selects the finest eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, which age for several decades in French oak barrels. This exceptional cognac has already won numerous awards, including “World Best Cognac” in 2021, “World Best Superior Quality” in 2015 at the World Cognac Awards, and “Best in Class” at the International World Spirits Competition in 2010.

The Hors d’Âge cognac captivates with its aromatic richness. On the nose, it reveals notes of honey, blackberries, and a delicate hint of wood, while on the palate, its velvety texture delivers a perfect balance between fruity, floral, and woody flavors.
